Social Athletics Of Saugeen Shore was first established 2009
18 years ago, a group of new to area youthful adults. Created a night of volleyball for teams to join in and play with.
That league has had a few past Presidents and Organizers. That has taken this league to 4 nights a week with as many as 10 courts being played on in one night. Making Port Elgin a destination for beach volleyball player to flock to. The league has players from as far north as Lions Head, as far East as Markdale and Badjeros. From the South, Goderich, Hanover Walkerton and Wingham. The Winter Volleyball also has us up in Wiarton. For the Wiarton Willy Festivial close to 25 years SASS or members have helped organize that event.
Dodgeball might be new to you. Don’t let that fool you. Dodgeball has been played for over 15 years in Saugeen Shores. Bring out some of the best athletes Saugeen Shores has to offer. We have had a few of Team Canada’s national players. Play in our leagues and tournaments.
Social Athletics is here in Saugeen Shores to continue maintaining the Active life style that has come to be what our community is. If you build it they will come. People are looking to get out and be active and have fun doing it. We just want to be there to make it happen. Curling, Running Club, Dodgeball, Volleyball and much more. It’s not just about sports, or being active. Concerts, local fundraisers, Restaurants, hospital or what ever event is going on. We want to be there!!
